Weighs: 22.5 lbs.
Length: 28 Inches
Status: Crawling and Curious
Firsts:
Cooper has his two bottom teeth now.
Crawling everywhere easily
He loves to climb up to standing position and get things off shelves, open cupboards and try to get things out of reach.
Going up stairs- He is great at going up but he wants to come down the stairs face first.
Sitting in a grocery cart basket- He loves to sit there and reach for everything on the shelves.
Cooper can walk while holding only one of our fingers. His balance is getting much better!
He loves to walk with his new walker he got for Christmas. He will hold onto the walker and if we don't help him it's kind of like a kid riding a bike down a hill but doesn't know how to use the brakes. He just gets faster and faster until he's running.
Seperation Anxiety- He cries any time one of us leave the room.
He has started sleeping on his belly now that he can roll over easily.
Eating crackers, goldfish, yogurt bites, and little pieces of many things we eat for dinner. He is getting good at using his index finger and thumb to pick up small finger foods and get them in his mouth.
When Cooper wakes up at night or in the morning he will pull himself up in his crib and either, babble, cry or make noise to get us to come get him.
Play Group- Cooper still prefers playing on his own or with family but he is starting to notice and interact with other kids now.
Favorites:
Pushing boxes or anything on wheels
Getting into anything we don't want him to- Cords, anything electronic like the play station controller, tv remote, our phones, small pieces of paper or things he finds on the floor etc. : )
Cooper loves to chase the animal trains Joe's family gave him for Christmas.
He loves to walk everywhere while we hold his hands.
Exploring his environment
He loves the Tick-Tock game and being swung by his legs upside-down
Cooper recently discovered his toungue and how much fun it is to play with other people's tongues too. He wSill stick his tongue ot and play with it and if he sees your tongue he tries to grab it.
He loves the "I'm gonna get you" game. He tries to crawl away as fast as he can giggling and then he will stop when he wants you to tickle him.
Still loves airplanes
Loves shopping and riding in the cart
Swimming
Playing and splashing in the bathtub
Sleeping on his belly
Paper or anything that crinkles.
Memorable Moments:
As Cooper gets more mobile he is so excited to pull himself up on things and see things from that view. One thing he loves to do is crawl over to the shower door and press his face up against the glass and it's so funny when he tries to suck on the glass and his tongue slides all over the glass.
We went swimming with Cooper for the second time in an indoor community pool and he absolutely loved it. He loved floating on his belly, back and kicking his legs. He even went down the water slide with mom. He was so brave!
We have started going to Story Time at the public library on Mondays. He's not so interested in the stories but they play music, and give them shakers, and scarves shake to the beat and he enjoys eating them. : )
Anytime we brush our teeth Cooper stops everything he's doing and crawls over to us so excited and wants our toothbrush so we bought him his own toothbrush to use while we brush our teeth. He actually brushes his two little teeth! Future Dentist! : )
Things that Make Cooper Cry:
Getting teeth
Sometimes strangers
Overstimulation- He likes quiet time sometimes
If we leave the room and he wants to come with us
When he's hungry
If he is having fun and the fun stops
When he's not in bed by bedtime or doesn't want to go to bed yet
If he gets woken up early
If we stop his feeding before he is full
When he needs a change of scenery
Things that Make Cooper Smile and Laugh:
When we play the "I'm Gonna Get You" game
If we hide and pop out at him quickly
Being tossed in the air
Doing tick-tock- Being held by his feet upside-down like a clock
Certain statements like "Ahh, that was good!" or "I'm serious Cooper"
Dancing to music
When mom and dad dance goofy
