Month 8

Weighs: 22.25 lbs. 70%
Length: 30 1/4 in. 95%
Status: Very Active and Mobile!

Firsts:
Cooper has two teeth on bottom and two teeth on top.
He waves using his whole arm.
He stands on his own for about 10 seconds then goes down to crawling or sitting position.
Cooper will walk holding onto just one of our fingers. He is really unbalanced when he does that but he will stick to it and keep walking. If he gets tired of that than he'll just stop and hold up his other arm and wait for us to give him a hand.
He will walk along furniture.
He is really good at his walker now. He can stop and go as he wants without help.
Cooper eats about 35 Oz. a day plus two servings of fruits or veggies. He likes snacks throughout the day such as goldfish, saltine crackers, cereal or bread.
High fever-he had a temp of 102 for a few days and didn't want to do anything but be held. It was so sad. : ( We took him to the doc and she ruled out RSV and Influenza. He has fully recovered now and is back to his mobile and active self.
Watching Sesame Street and Baby Einstein- While he was sick and only wanted to be held those shows seemed to catch his attention for a little while.
Eating Ice-cream...and he loved it of course : )
Saying "mama" when he's upset and "dada" when he's content and happy

Favorites:
Chasing the vacuum and broom
His "Ten Little Lady Bug", "Tail" and "Tractor" books. Every night before he goes to bed we read a book and there are lots of books on display to read but he always chooses one of those books even if they're hard to reach.
Making the toilet paper roll go around and around.
Watching the clothes in the washer/dryer go around and around.
Anything electronic-iphones, cameras, remote controls,PS3 controllers, or laptops.
Playing in the laundry basket when it's upside-down
Playing hide and go seek- We hide behind a door or wall and he crawls to find us and he smiles big and laughs when he finds us.
He makes a weird choking noise with his mouth and it would scare us every time when he first started.
Sometimes when you're holding him he will just look at you and grab at your face.
Jewelry
The door stopper
Biting everything with his new pearly whites
He still goes to anyone and likes to crawl up people's legs to get them to hold him.
Going on walks
Pushing boxes or anything on wheels
He loves the Tick-Tock game and being swung by his legs upside-down
Being tossed in the air by daddy
Still loves airplanes
Loves shopping and riding in the cart
Playing and splashing in the bathtub
Sleeping on his belly
Paper or anything that crinkles.

Memorable Moments:
Cooper was holding onto his walker and all of a sudden he let go and just stood there for about 10 seconds looking around and smiling. We were all clapping and he didn't even seem to notice he was doing anything special. When he was done standing he grabbed onto his walker again and started walking. He has done that about 4 times now.

We were at church and next to us was a very large man and his wife. Surprisingly this large man asked if he could hold Cooper and we let him. Cooper instantly warmed up to him and cuddled up to him putting his head on his shoulder. He kept wanting to go back to him and it was so cute. After the meeting was over this couple told us all 13 of their grandkids were scared of him as babies because he's so big and how surprised they were that Cooper just cuddled up. Cooper is such a sweetheart and seems to love people.

At Cooper's 9 month checkup today the doc said he is where he should be developmentally in every way. She was surprised at how big his hands and feet are and said he would pass Brianne up by Jr. High. : ) She had no concerns about him and the best part of his 9 month birthday was that he didn't get any shots!

Things that Make Cooper Cry:
The air mattress pump- The look he gets when it turns on is sheer terror. His little lip curls and he'll crawl to us really fast and want us to hold him. It is so sad but at the same time really cute too.
Being sick
Getting teeth
Sometimes strangers
Overstimulation- He likes quiet time sometimes
If we leave the room and he wants to come with us
When he's hungry
If he is having fun and the fun stops
When he's not in bed by bedtime or doesn't want to go to bed yet
If he gets woken up early
If we stop his feeding before he is full
When he needs a change of scenery

Things that Make Cooper Smile and Laugh:

If we hide and pop out at him quickly
The plunger
Being tossed in the air
Doing tick-tock- Being held by his feet upside-down like a clock
Dancing to music
When we chase him
When mom and dad dance goofy
Being upside-down and getting tickled
Bath Time
Getting startled or surprised
When he sees something he wants he will bounce up and down, smile and reach for it
After a car ride when we open the door to get him out of his car seat
He will smile at anyone who will give him attention.
